The initial session

All new clients are invited to a 'no commitment' initial session, this session provides a chance to talk through particular concerns and to decide the best way forward. During the session, I will explain how I work and answer any questions you may have.

It is quite usual for clients to feel a bit anxious about coming to seek support for the first time. While most clients go on to continue therapy I believe finding the right therapist is essential and so it is important you feel I am the right fit for you.


The ‘contract’

If you are happy to move forward with Therapy, I will ask you to agree a ‘contract’ with me. This is designed to set out the expectations of the therapy. The contract usually includes things such as the fee you will pay, and issues of confidentiality.  Of course, you may stop coming at any time – you are not bound by the contract. However I would ask that you give me notice and i would suggest a final session. This is because sometimes therapy can be difficult and it is good to end it in the most helpful way possible.


I work to a strict code of ethics, and all information is treated as confidential, unless I believe there is a risk to you or someone else. 

I attend regular supervision as part of best practice and I am GDPR compliant.


Cancellations policy

As I am self-employed and therefore need to manage my diary efficiently I do operate a strict cancellations policy requiring all clients to give me a minimum of one business day (24 hours) notice of any cancelled session. The full fee is payable if sufficient notice is not given.

Cost

I charge £45 for an initial session and £55 per session for self-funding clients.

I can offer discounted rates for students.


I do not have card facilities, but accept either cash or bank transfer at the time of your session.
